1- Task Force Formation
FORESTS COVER & PLANT COMMUNITY NEED US. AN APPEAL…
The total forest & tree cover of our country is 82.736 million hectares, which is 25.17 percent of the total geographical area (India State of Forest Report 2023) while the National target is to have at least 33% under forest & tree cover to have at least the minimum ecological balance of the country.
How to narrow down this FOREST COVER GAP…???
Not possible by one or two…. But needs a TEAM of DEDICATED SOULS….
YES FRIENDS, WE CAN DO THIS TOGETHER… as WANGARI MAATHAI – the famous Noble laureate (2004) said “I’m very conscious of the fact that you can’t do it alone. It’s teamwork. When you do it alone you run the risk that when you are no longer there nobody else will do it.” In fact, we formed a TEAM called as “GREEN TASK FORCE” in Tirunelveli District of Tamil Nadu, INDIA during 1998 with the active supports of local people, Govt. officials, NGOs, Institutes, School/College Students & made a successful Planting of about 40,000 saplings with a slogan “MAKE INDIA GREEN”
“There is no substitute for Tree planting”

DEAR FRIENDS,
The 21st day of March, was established by resolution of the United Nations General Assembly on November 28, 2012 as the “INTERNATIONAL DAY OF FORESTS”, to celebrate &raise awareness of the importance of all types of forests, & trees outside forests, for the benefit of current & future generations. Earlier, IN November 1971, the “States members” at the 16th session of the Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization, voted to establish “WORLD FORESTRY DAY” on March 21 of each year.
Not possible by one or two…. But needs a TEAM of DEDICATED SOULS…. FORESTS COVER & PLANT COMMUNITY NEED US… AN APPEAL…
PLANT COMMUNITY is the only living entities that prepare their own food and sacrifices everything for the benefit of other living being including mankind. Forests – the home of the Plant kingdom works as a store house to supply all the Basic Life Supporting System—the goods & services. THEY GIVE US FRESH AIR, WATER AND FERTILE SOIL TO GROW OUR CROPS FOR SUSTANANCE AND SO ON…
Today we are suffering from multi-faceted problem like acute DROUGHT, HIGH TEMPERATURE ALL OVER THE COUNTRY THAT RESULTED IN UNABATED FOREST FIRE EVEN IN THE COOL HIMALAYA; SCARECITY OF WATER (AS IN LATUR AND OTHER PLACES) CAUSING EXTREEME SUFFERINGS OF MAN AND ANIMAL EVERYWHERE; AIR AND WATER POLLUTION IN ALL MAJOR URBAN AREAS CAUSING MASS SCALE HEALTH HAZARDS and so ON…
TO SOLVE ALL THESE PROBLEMS, WE NEED A LARGE-SCALE TREE PLANTING PROGRAMME. THIS GIGANTIC WORK IS not possible by one or two PERSONS…. But needs a TEAM of DEDICATED SOULS…. AS WANGARI MAATHAI -THE FAMOUS NOBLE LAUREATE SAID
“I’M VERY CONSCIOUS OF THE FACT THAT YOU CAN’T DO IT ALONE. IT’S TEAMWORK. WHEN YOU DO IT ALONE YOU RUN THE RISK THAT WHEN YOU ARE NO LONGER THERE NOBODY ELSE WILL DO IT.” SHE ALSO SAID
“UNTIL YOU DIG A HOLE…PLANT A TREE…YOU WATER IT AND MAKE ITSURVIVE,
YOU HAVEN’T DONE A THING …. YOU ARE JUST TALKING.”
IN FACT, NOW “THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE OF LARGESCALE TREE PLANTING TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. IT IS THE SERIOUS PROBLEM OF ALL OF US AND NEEDS COMMON EFFORTS, STRATEGY AND TOGETHERNESS.
MONSOON RAINS (both South West and North West) IS HOVER IN THE SKY.

LET US PLANT OXYGEN PRODUCING FACTORY & FACTORIES & THEN ESTABLISH LARGE SCALE INDUSTRIES OF THESE!
ARE you joking with us? It needs huge Money…. No friends it does not. HOW? YES…!!
You inhale Oxygen & exhale Carbon Di Oxide…. I too do this…. In fact, all living entity does this except the Plants….the PLANT KINGDOM. They absorb poisonous CO2, & produce O2 for us…. Not only this; they supply food, water too for all of us…. We are all dependent on them…. BUT THEY ARE NOT… they produce their own food!
WE CAN SURVIVE WITHOUT FOOD & WATER FOR A FEW DAYS BUT CAN WE SURVIVE EVEN FOR A FEW MINUTES WITHOUT TAKING O2? NO…..Then THINK for a while what PERSONAL contribution YOU or I made to produce the O2 which we take every moment &survive?…
IF NOT… LET US START RIGHT NOW… Let us grow Plant / Trees, protect & conserve them. HOW?
Let us Collect seeds, Grow Seedlings/ Saplings… Dig out Pitts, Plant & protect them till they are established as did by WANGARI MAATHAI-the famous Noble laureate from Kenya.
THIS WILL BE OUR REAL SERVICE IN SILENCE LIKE PLANTS FOR US & FOR THE SOCIETY.
Friends, each individual Plant /Tree is an O2 making Factory, FORESTS… the O2 Producing Large scale industries ….
LET US TOGETHER GROW, PROTECT & CONSERVE THEM FOR OUR OWN SAKE…. IT does not require huge money BUT NEEDS DEDICATION with a PLEDGE, TEAM WORK & LOVE WITH SACRIFICIAL MODE TO SERVE THE SOCIETY….

We did similar TEAM WORK at TN FOREST COLLEGE, VAIGAI in Theni District, where 635 Trainees converted a barren land of about 200 hectares into an OASIS with in a period of 1 year 11 months during 2009- 2011 without any financial assistance of Govt. or anybody else but only by TEAM work with commitment to keep Mother EARTH as GREEN. Hence Friends “There is no substitute for Tree planting”
